Freedom Area School District
The Freedom Area School District is a small, rural, public school district in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA. It serves the boroughs of Freedom, Conway, and the township of New Sewickley. Freedom Area School District encompasses approximately . According to 2000 federal census data, it has a resident population of 11,129 people. The district operates four schools: Freedom Area High School (9th-12th), Freedom Area Middle School (5th-8th), Big Knob Elementary School (K-4th) and Conway Elementary School (K-4th).

The school district is governed by 9 individually elected board members (serve four-year terms), the Pennsylvania State Board of Education, the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania General Assembly.〔Pennsylvania Public School Code Governance 2010〕 The federal government controls programs it funds like Title I funding for low-income children in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and the No Child Left Behind Act, which mandates the district focus resources on student success in acquiring reading and math skills.
